A young woman lead in a gray Hanoverian filly who is prancing in place. Kristen looked up at the high headed, young horse and sighed. Taffy is quite a high strung mare. She also has trouble jumping high things which sort of makes the filly shy majorly. Kristen patted the filly who jerked her head as Kristen's soft hands tightened the girth on the English saddle.
Kristen then also made sure Taffy is ready to be ridden before easily mounting on the snorting filly. At the weight of Kirsten's body, the filly shot up her head before taking a small leap forward. "Hey, that is a no, no." Kristen muttered as she almost fell off the filly's back. "Taffy, common and calm down." the young woman circled the prancing and snorting mare a few circles to the right and left.
Kristen then took the reins and shortened them a little before walking the mare forward and around the inside arena. "Now, that is a good girl." Kristen sighed softly as Taffy kept up a walking stride on her small legs. After 3 circles of walking, Kristen urged the filly into the trot. The 6 year old mare trotted along easily for about 5 laps around the outside of the arena.
The young girl then tapped The Taffy Queen into a smooth canter. That is one of the good things that the filly has. Kristen smiled as they moved around for a circle to the right before sending the young mare toward a good sized jump. 2 feet from the jump the filly swung wide away from the thing, which the fast movement almost tossed the young woman from her saddle.
