Hello to all my new students!
Our first show will be from October 20th to the 27th! It's a smaller A show, Westbrook in October week II, located here in Westbrook as a bit of a warm up before our indoors and fall season starts up. There will be a thread up on the bulletin board that everyone will need to reply to so we can decide on who you will show and what you will show in.
Please reply to this if you plan on showing.
There will be an open lesson in the outdoor hunter ring shortly, if you want to discuss the possibility of showing one of my horses at the show coming up, be there.
OOC:
Here's the deal with showing at North Creek:
Everyone will RP their rounds if they're showing in the hunters or equitation, but the judging will be fair in some places and not in others, that's part of the drama of showing. Regardless, Hunters and Eq is hardly ever fair. Expect to possibly be placed lower because of your social status, but it's a good plot line so use it to your advantage!
Jumpers will be role played, but the placing will be random unless if you knock a rail. If you choose to knock a rail, do not expect to place, but just think of it as role playing real life. If you think your character would get nervous and knock a rail, role play that out! It'll make a good post, no one's perfect. Rails will get knocked, there will be refusals, there will be tight spots and chips and leaving long, very few rounds are -perfect-.
Height and rule specifications will be in line with Zone 4, because A. I'm in zone 4 so I know all the rules and I don't have to do any guess work, B. WEF is located in zone 4 and that's where they'll be spending their winter shows (though WEF also offers medium junior jumpers), and C. Zone 4's rules are the most in depth and up to date with the rest of the zones and diverse, whereas zone 1, 2, and 3, often have one height for a division, zone 4 will have 3: a low, medium/regular, and high.
